The Awakening stars Ram Jethmalani too!

Like all cultures, Sindhis too, had a tough time time during the partition and I wanted to let the world know that.

This movie gave me the perfect opportunity to speak my mind. However, I wanted my film to be informative and entertaining at the same time.

I was fortunate to rope in a great star cast including the flamboyant lawyer Mr Ram Jethmalani. Though the role was for a duration of 10-minutes, he did complete justice to his character.

The pain of losing our roots and culture daunts me often. In fact, the gap seems to be widening more & more with the newer generations. I sincerely hope, The Awakening, will bring people closer to their roots.
