My culture, my inspiration

The Awakening, was a process, an idea that evolved through phases and years.

I owe a lot to my roots and culture, this movie was made to let the whole world know. With generations passing by, I felt the loss of community, language and identity. In fact, the youth of today are not only ignorant about their roots, they have no inclination and knowledge.

I wanted to create a story, that's interesting, musical and informative. The Awakening is a musical journey about exploring your roots. I know people are scattered all over the world for either work or pleasure but it's their land of origin that makes them who they are.

With this movie, I wish to reach out not just the Sindhis but the non-Sindhis too. The Awakening, is a wake-up call to all those who've forgotten their roots.
